Still playing catch up blogging!!

So last Friday in February the annual Noorat to Terang fun run was held.  Advertised as 5.92km (who does that!!!! Start another 80 metres up the road people!!) it's a fairly low key annual event run by the Terang Lions Club.

Just arrive, sign in, pay the $10 and they work out what group you are in by a symbol drawn on your hand.  I'm going with V for VICTORY as opposed to (cough cough) perish the thought  I'm a Veteran!!!!

As usual my support entourage of one was there with me which is nice as he can drive the back way to Terang to wait at the end for me.  Otherwise they run a couple of busses before the race from Terang to the start at Noorat.

Mike made sure he captured my pre-race Noorat jump which I've done each year, mind you he made me jump about 20 times to capture this shot.  I was knackered!!!!

Walkers took off at 6.30pm on the walking track and runners at 6.45pm,  runners were using the south bound lane of the road to Terang whilst the North bound lane remained open to traffic at 40 kmh.  They did warn us that they may make a decision to move the slow runners to the walking track in an effort to open the road as soon as possible.

Alas I was one of the slow runners who the sweeper vehicle came and swept me off the road about half way into the run.  Baaah!!!  Although the (psychological) side effect of that was being able to catch up to and pass the walkers which was a good feeling.

Anyway it was fun, not my best time but thinking about that my run ended up a little longer a  tad over 6km probably due to being on the walking track.  But all good.  Yet another event for the year under my belt.

Next event coming up is the Queenscliff to Drysdale against the steam train in March.  Stay tuned.
